White Paper Co. Supports Xerox Customers Forced to find New Paper Supplier



July 3rd, 2013, Delta, British ColumbiaEarlier this year, Domtar announced the completion of the acquisition of Xerox Corporation’s business papers division in Canada.  As a result, Xerox’s less than truck customers have been forced to find a new paper supplier.

The deal was initially announced on March 21st, 2013. Domtar, which recorded revenues of $5.5 billion in 2012, manufactures and distributes a wide variety of papers and with the acquisition of Xerox has added another global brand name to their list of current established brands which includes Cougar, First Choice and Domtar EarthChoice.

After the acquisition was complete, Xerox changed their paper distribution model to fit Domtar’s model. Domtar strictly only distributes to merchants and not to end users. Xerox who supplied end users across Canada had to stop serving customers ordering smaller than truck quantities.  As White Paper Co. is a distributor of many brands of business papers, including Xerox, they are able to support those customers being forced to look for alternate suppliers.

“We’ve had lots of calls from companies who have never dealt with White Paper looking for an alternative supplier to Xerox” explains Mike McGovern, Eastern Regional Manger. “The influx of new business has been great for us across the country” continues Mike. “We are surprised Xerox made the decision to stop catering to those who couldn’t purchase at least a full truckload at a time.  This has proven to become an opportunity for us in all of our locations across the country.  We deal with many large customers, but we appreciate the business of our smaller customers too.”

Xerox still offers their complete line of paper options including Xerox Business 4200 copy, Xerox Color Xpressions Select, Xerox Color Xpressions Elite, and Xerox Digital Color Elite but because their distribution model has changed.  Customers must now order through a distributor for their Xerox grades.  White Paper Co. offers Xerox paper options, in additions to their many less expensive options for those not looking for brand name sheets.
